While elves of the commune are forbidden from meddling in the human world, Fayelynn’s curiosity knows no bounds. Wandering amidst their overgrown cityscapes, she can’t help but wonder if they were really so bad…

Character Inspirations
The story of “Fayelynn” is, in many ways, akin to a modern-day “Little Mermaid.” A reminder that we cannot allow our fears to keep us from exploring our world; that children must be allowed to draw their own conclusions… lest we fall into an endless cycle of hatred and fear.
Photography & Design
Vibrant colors, reflective water, bright sunlight with intentional lens flair… I wanted Fayelynn to feel almost magical. While the riverside was full of natural beauty, it’s the abandoned bridge—falling apart and covered in brightly colored graffiti—that provided an excellent source of “urban grunge” to contrast with.
The Outfit
This being only my second project, I was still trying to keep the leatherwork involved relatively simple. However, with how wonderful the feedback has been, I’ve already started planning far more impressive pieces for the near future!
The bra, choker, and belt are all genuine leather, handmade for the occasion. While it was a real challenge getting the leather to look “natural,” I’d like to think the dye techniques used came out pretty close. By keeping it strapless and incorporating leather cord “vines” and lace, the top really ended up bringing everything together nicely.
The blue/green dreadlock extensions were courtesy of our friends at Dreadful Hair and Creations and were absolutely wonderful for adding an “untamed” touch to the shoot.
All in all, while fairly simple, I absolutely LOVED the final look!
