Growing up in The Underground City it seemed as if everything around Ramona was broken. One day she decided to turn away from it all and learn to fix the things she could.
“Everything breaks; the only things that last are things you're willing to fix.“

Character Inspirations
“With Ramona I really thought about what kind of people the Underground City might need, which led me to the idea of her being a mechanic for the gang. After that everything else from her costume to her backstory just kind of fell in place. I also really liked the idea that her background as a mechanic came from a need to ‘fix’ everything—and everyone—around her. It’s a headspace that’s a lot of fun to get into and I imagine it’s probably gotten her into trouble more than once—especially when it comes to her sisters.”

The Costume
“Ramona’s costume was inspired by the iconic 70’s black girl fashion style. I wanted her to have big hoop earrings, big curly hair, and even thought about bell bottoms. I was definitely going for the hippie look, but then I decided I wanted her to be the mechanic/tinkerer of the group… which led to the shorts, hat, and mechanic style glasses.”
