Mayhem was born the unwanted child of an undercity prostitute. In her early years she suffered extensive emotional and physical abuses… She claims they’re what led her to run away and join the Angels–at just 4 years old. May, like many of the Angels, was undocumented. With Enforcer presence on the rise she found herself routinely helpless to protect her sisters… but unwilling to just roll over.
Character Inspirations
“My first thought when creating Mayhem was a vision I referred to as ‘Derby Punk.’ I wanted a grunge style tank girl on roller skates. Growing up I spent many weekends at the rink and often times dreamed of playing roller derby some day. The name ‘Fifty Shades of Mayhem’ (Mayhem for short) is actually inspired by the crazy names the derby girls tend to go by… as is her temper. I’d like to think anyone who tries to mess with Mayhem—or her crew—is likely to end up on the wrong side of a high-speed metal battering ram drive-by.”
